Human Rights

Human rights refer to basic rights and freedoms to which all humans are entitled.  They signify basic standards which allow people to live in dignity. To violate someone’s human rights is to treat that person as though she or he were not a human being. To advocate human rights is to demand that the human dignity of all people be respected.

  • Human Rights are inherent to each individual
  • Human rights are individual
  • Human rights are indisputable
  • Human rights are inseparable

Who is CAUS – Communication Rights Australia

Communication Rights Australia is a not-for-profit agency funded jointly through the Victorian Departments of Human Services and Planning and Community Development.

We receives funding through the Federal Department of Broadband Communication and Digital Economy to represent the interest of people with little or no speech to the telecommunication industry.

We are a human rights advocacy and information service for people with little or no speech.

We responds to people with little or no speech who have had their rights infringed or believe they are not been heard.

We provide information to help protect people’s rights and access the supports they need for a quality life in the community.

We increases community awareness and understanding through publicising the issues and barriers associated with communication or speech loss.
